Description
Founded in 1994, Greenwood is a Canadian new media education group specializing in providing web-based educational software.
This award-winning website (www.Greenwood.ca) focuses on English as a Second Language (ESL) learning programs
with an emphasis on neutral English accent.
As a sustainable business,
Greenwood has succeeded not only in sailing through the storms of the Asian financial crisis in the late 1990's,
the dot-com bubble burst in 2001 (where more than 90% of all e-learning companies folded),
and the more recent global financial crisis started in 2008,
but also in winning international awards and retaining satisfied customers.
In 2010, Greenwood created the World Civility Index (WCI) so that job-seekers, business people, tourists and
youths can earn points towards their own World Civility Index point system as part of their personal digital credential.
World Civility Index is a standardized measurement of how much awareness a person has towards soft skills such as empathy, cultural awareness and business etiquette.
It allows HRs and job seekers to be all on the same page,
and similarly for university admission and high school applicants.
Without a standard like World Civility Index, there is no common denominator for comparison.
World Civility Index was introduced in 2014 to the non-profit IITTI (www.IITTI.org) that Greenwood created.
IITTI is a standardized test of soft skills.
Exam takers can write the various IITTI tests and earn points based on the World Civility Index system.
